The AUTOSORT MC-C is specifically designed for sorting defects from washed whole carrots. It can remove colour, shape and size defects all in a single operation and is typically fitted between a brush washer and a roller grader. It uses four cameras to view top, bottom, crown and tail of carrots and removes defects and contaminants with a short puff of air.
Three sizes of machine are available, with the most common one rated at 15 T/hr. The carrots are laned on a vibratory feeder and viewed in flight for all-round inspection. The system is easy to set up and has no moving belts etc, so is simple to clean and maintain.
